About Six Hail Marys
Transparency is important to us. This page explains who built this app, why it exists, and the architectural decisions that protect your privacy.
Who Built This
Six Hail Marys was created by a small team of Catholic developers who wanted a reverent, private tool for spiritual preparation. We are not affiliated with any diocese or religious order. We are laypeople building something we wished existed.
Why This Exists
Preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation can feel overwhelming, especially if it has been a while. Six Hail Marys provides guided examinations of conscience, structured prayers, and reflections to help you approach the sacrament with clarity and peace.
Privacy by Architecture
We do not store confession content, examination answers, or personal reflections on our servers. All spiritual content stays on your device.
- •No accounts. You never sign up or log in.
- •Anonymous analytics only. We collect minimal, aggregated usage data (e.g., which features are used) to improve the app. No personal identifiers are attached.
- •Hashed IPs. IP addresses are one-way hashed with a rotating salt before storage. We cannot reverse them. The salt rotates regularly so hashes cannot be correlated over time.
- •Country-level geo only. We read the country from Cloudflare headers for aggregate statistics, then discard the raw header. No city or coordinate data is stored.
Sacramental Disclaimer
Six Hail Marys is not a substitute for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This app is a preparation tool only. Valid sacramental confession requires a penitent to confess to an ordained priest. The app always directs users toward a real priest and a real confession.
No AI-generated content in this app constitutes spiritual direction, sacramental absolution, or official Church teaching.
